Richard Eugene Gillispie
(November 18, 1945 - September 22, 20130


Richard Eugene Gillispie, 67, of Huntington, passed away Sunday September 22, 2013 at his residence. He was born November 18, 1945, in Huntington a son of the late Sylvia Gillispie Meadows. He was also preceded in death by a baby sister, Linda Meadows, and a brother, Lester Meadows. Richard was Baptist by faith, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam Era, a mechanic, and an installer for Scott Sullivan Inc. Survivors include his wife, Dragica Buckovic Gillispie; a son, Richard Nicholas Gillispie of Huntington; granddaughter, Skyler Dawn Gillispie of Huntington; two sisters, Carol Coleman and husband, Randall of Wayne, WV, and Renda Weekley of Ona; and a brother, Robert Meadows and wife, Donna of Milton, WV. The family wishes donations be made in his honor to the American Kidney Fund, American Diabetes Association, or flowers will be accepted. Memorial service will be conducted 7:00 PM Thursday September 26, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Rev. Larry Nelson officiating. Due to Richard’s decision to donate his body to science, inurnment will occur at a later date in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Friends may visit one hour prior to services Thursday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
