Betty Erelene Knight
(July 11, 1929 - September 2, 2013)



Betty Erelene Knight, 84, passed away Monday September 2, 2013 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 12:00 PM Thursday September 5, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington with Pastor Ray Knapp officiating. Entombment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Betty was born July 11, 1929 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late William Earl & Betty Elizabeth Campbell Thompson. She was a member of the Huntington Evangelistic Center for over 60 years and was employed by the Cabell County B.O.E. for 28 years retiring from Cox’s Landing Elementary School as a secretary. Her husband; Claude Edwin Knight, brother; Russell Thompson, and her aunt & uncle Geneivive & Royce Williams preceded her in death. Survivors include one son Rick Knight and one daughter Claudia Stevens both of Huntington, one sister; Margie Thompson of Cincinnati, OH, two grandsons; Brad Stevens & special friend Sarah Rowe of Huntington, Brandon Stevens & wife Megan of South Carolina, four great-grandchildren; Kayley & Taylor Stevens & Hollyn & River Stevens, four sisters-in-law; Francis Caldwell & husband Curly, Inez Jobe, Emogene Bryan & husband Ted, and Rosemary Knight, special friends; David Chenoweth, Pat Jones and Ella Rowe and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brad & Brandon Stevens, Scott Brannen, Troy Knight, David Chenoweth and Pat Jones. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday September 4, 2013.
