Obituary

Diana Rakes

Diana Rakes, age 69, of Huntington, WV gained her wings on July 15, 2021 in the presence of family. She was born on September 28, 1951 in Robinette, West Virginia to Clyde and Georgia (Toppings) Farley, who preceded her in death. She married her first love, Ezra Craft, who preceded her in death (1968) and years later met David Rakes whom she married in 1981 and he also preceded her in death (2001). In her lifetime she was a truck driver, business owner, caregiver, foster parent and friend. She was known as a sister, aunt, friend and her greatest roles were being a wife, mother and nana. Diana touched the lives of those she met and made a lasting impression. She shared her love of sweets with her grandchildren and her furbaby. She is survived by her children, Danielle Rakes, Anthony Craft (Lisa), Janine Sarver (Jim); her brothers Dallas Farley (Diana Sue), George Farley (Debbie); her sisters Alice Lawson (Larry), Brenda Adkins; her grandchildren, Danika Rakes, Kemina Arreola, Deidra MCCormick, Anthony (Bubby) Craft, Isabelle Sarver; several great grandchildren and her many special nieces and nephews. All of these and many others she loved and touched deeply.
