Obituary

Lowell Keith Stephens

Lowell "Keith" Stephens, 84, of Pataskala, OH, died July 13, 2021 in Pataskala Oaks Care Center. He was born April 14, 1937 in Winslow, Wayne County, WV to the late Alton Benson and Ever Jane Ross Stephens. He is survived by daughters Deborah (Don) Black of Pataskala, OH and Melissa (Harry) Mounts of Anna, TX; Donald Stamper of West Monroe, LA; grandsons John (Princess) Black of Blacklick, OH and Devin Blankenship of Anna, TX, as well as Jade and Chase Mounts also of Anna, TX; sisters Patricia Patterson, Helen Garshaw, and Karen Morgan all of Huntington, WV; nieces Jerri (Bill) Black, Marlene Patterson, Rhonda (John) Culicerto, and Amber Smiley; nephews Brent Morgan and Brian (Cindy) Morgan; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Keith loved and was beloved by his family and friends and enjoyed special relationships with his four-legged friends, Lou and later Boots. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958. He had a fondness for geography and worked various jobs around the United States before eventually settling on flooring installation from which he retired in the late 1980s. He had a passion for crossword puzzles. He really enjoyed watching football and was known to startle anyone nearby by shouting at the players on the television. His smile and the twinkle in his eyes could light up any room. His love for laughter was always shared with those around him. He went by many names such as Dad, Brother, Uncle, and Grandpa, but only one word describes him in every aspect . . . LOVED. Friends may call from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Chapman's Mortuary on Thursday, July 22. A service will follow at 2:00pm and will be officiated by Pastor Larry Greene of River Cities Community Church. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park.
