Roy Wayne Carter

Roy Wayne Carter


Roy Wayne Carter, 79, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with the Lord and entered into his Heavenly reward, Saturday December 17, 2022. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday December 23, 2022 at Beverly Hills Church of Christ Christian with Minister Dearl Hutchison officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Wayne was born November 1, 1943 in Henderson, TN a son of the late Roy Atkins and Louise Smith Carter. He was a graduate of Chester County High School and Kentucky Christian College. He was the pastor of Beverly Hills Church of Christ Christian in Huntington for 40 years and a member of KYOWVA for 30 years. He devoted his life to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Also preceding him in death was his beloved youngest daughter, Kristen Carter and his beloved wife of 50 years Janet G Carter and a brother-in-law, Claude Brando. Survivors include his loving and devoted daughter, Dina and son-in-law, Michael Miller of Huntington, three sisters, Janette (Larry) Stout of TN, Josephine Brandow of VA, and Blenda Morrison of CO, one brother, Larry Franklin (Joan) Carter of TN, a sister-in-law, Helen Ashley of KY and a host of nieces and nephews. If attending please wear facial coverings and honor social distancing. Visitation will be after noon until service time on Friday at the church. Chapman's Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
