Joyce Kyle Fisher
(June 11, 1934 - December 2, 2022)

Joyce Kyle Fisher

Joyce Kyle Boster Fisher, 88, of Huntington, WV entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday, December 9, 2022, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Dustin McCune officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. Kyle, as she was preferred to be called, was born on June 11, 1934, to Bill and Marie Kyle who preceded her in death. She was married to and also preceded in death by Carol Boster, the father of her children, and Kenneth Fisher. She graduated from Barboursville High School where she was head majorette. Kyle worked as a secretary and was employed at Marshall University in various departments including Chemistry and Education as well as the Autism Training Center. She was also the executive secretary for several years for the dean of the Graduate School. She worked as well briefly for the state and her second husband's law firm. Kyle was a Christian, and most recently attended Crossroads United Methodist Church. She loved to sing and had a strong soprano voice, and she was frequently featured as a soloist. Through the years, she also participated in choirs at Olive Baptist Church, Steele Memorial Methodist Church, where her first husband was choir director, and Highlawn Baptist Church. Kyle was creative and enjoyed decorating her homes. She also enjoyed painting with oils and produced several landscapes which she presented to family and friends. In her later years, she did some acting with parts in local productions of Fiddler on the Roof and Steel Magnolias. Kyle was very fond of animals and had many dogs and cats over the years as well as a goat. For several years, she bred, raised and showed English bulldogs and finished numerous champions. She later became a dog show judge of first English and then French bulldogs. She was a member of the Huntington Kennel Club, the Bulldog Club of America and the West Virginia Bulldog Club, among others. Kyle is survived by her beloved children, of whom she was very proud: Stephen Carol Boster and his wife Lisa, Kimberly Dawn Peterson and her husband Joe, and Kristina Joyce. She also has five grandchildren: Chris Boster (Chrissy), Nathan Boster (Katie), Zachary Boster, Jessica Hardwick (Jared), and Aaron Dunn (Krista); as well as ten great grandchildren, Riley, Taylor, Charlee, and Evie Boster; Kyleigh and Johnny Boster, Hayden and Mickail Hardwick, Dylan and Declan Dunn: one great great granddaughter, Elena. She is survived by one sister Carolyn Sue Kyle and her companion, Clyde Collins, Jr., both of whom were very supportive of Kyle on her last years. In addition, she leaves behind the cats she rescued a few years ago, Rascal, Princess, Andrew, Mama and Lovely who are now in the care of her sister. The family wishes to thank the caregivers from Right at Home, especially Amy and Jessica, as well as the caregivers at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation, especially Sammy, for their excellent sand compassionate care of Kyle and also her friends Linda Mahaffey, Cindy Cooper and Lillie Scarberry for the many kindnesses they showed her during her later years. Contributions in Kyle's memory may be made to Help for Animals, One Humane Way, Barboursville, WV, or floral tributes would be welcome if preferred. Friends may visit one hour prior to service time Friday, December 9., 2022, at the funeral home.
