THEODORE "TED" HATFIELD
(January 13, 1923 - January 2, 2015)

Theodore Franklin “Ted” Hatfield, Jr. 91 of Ona, W.Va. passed away, Friday, January 2, 2015 in Midland Meadows Senior Living, Ona, W.Va. He was born January 13, 1923 in Oklahoma City, Okla. the son of the late Theodore Franklin Hatfield, Sr. and Carry Fergeson Hatfield. He was a WWII. Coast Guard Veteran, retired from TTA working in customer service and member of Grace Gospel Church.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by  his first wife, Dorothy Marie Brooks Hatfield and his second wife, Marie Herald Hatfield; two sisters and five brothers. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Debbie Hatfield of Ashland, KY; one daughter and son-in-law, Judee and Charles Smith of Ona, W.Va; step-daughter and son-in-law, Sue and David Straley of Hurricane, W.Va; three grandchildren Joshua and Natalie Smith of Chesapeake, OH, Jacob and Andrea Smith of Flatwoods, KY and Jessica and Patrick Howard of Newland, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 Pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va. with Rev. Jerry Matt officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from noon until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
