LESTER OTIS "BUCK" MEEHLING, JR.
(December 24, 1945 - January 12, 2015)



Lester Otis “Buck” Meehling, Jr. husband of Vickie Lynn Meehling, 69 of Milton, W.Va. passed away, Monday, January 12, 2015 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, W.Va. He was born December 24, 1945 in Huntington, W.Va. the son of Lester Otis Meehling Sr. and Norma Ruth Meehling. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the 101st Airborne Division and was a Purple Heart recipient and was retired from Whiteway Laundry in Huntington, W.Va.  He is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Vickie Lynn Ball Meehling of Milton, W.Va. and one daughter and very special son-in-law, Lesley Meehling-Baker (Jason) of Hurricane, W.Va; four brothers, John, Frank, Roger and Ronald Meehling all of Proctorville, OH; brother-in-law, Russell Allen Ball, M.D. (Margaret) of Summerfield, NC; niece and nephew, Katie Ball and John “Pookie” Ball also of Summerfield, N.C; very special friends, Sherry and David Pelphrey and Teresa and Jack Jones and his special dog, “Tucker”. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Forest Memorial Park Mausoleum, Milton, W.Va. with Pastor Anthony Jay Arn officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #139 Milton, W.Va. and the West Virginia Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:45 PM on Saturday at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va. The family requests that memorial donations in Buck's honor may be made to the Barboursville Veterans Home.
