ObituaryRalph Marcum, Jr. RALPH MARCUM JR., 59, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Reger Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Carol McKay. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. Ralph was a member of Lavalette United Methodist Church. He graduated from Wayne High School and Marshall University and was a retired school teacher, having taught for 33 years in Wayne County. Ralph was born on July 15, 1951, in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Ralph and Eva Fortner Marcum. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 32 years, Sara E. McCallister Marcum; two sisters and spouses, Linda and Jim McCallister, and Kathy and David Cathers; four nieces and spouses, Jamie and Ty Harmon, Kayla and Andy Stapleton, Courtney Cathers and Brianna Cathers, all of Huntington; a very special friend and kidney donor, Tony Suter of Portsmouth, Va., that allowed Ralph 13 wonderful years; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Sincere thanks to all the dedicated doctors and nurses that have cared for Ralph over the years. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at the Reger Funeral Home.
