Elsie Crockett Napier
(March 7, 1911 - November 8, 2010)


ELSIE CROCKETT NAPIER, 99-years, 8-months, and 1-day old, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Monday, November 8, 2010. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Crockett Family Cemetery, Wayne County, W.Va., by Pastor Don Irby. Burial will follow. Elsie was born March 7, 1911, in Wayne County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Henry and Victoria Stephens Crockett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Fred Napier, two sons, Lemuel and Samuel Napier, four brothers and five sisters. Elsie came to Huntington with her husband of 45 years Fred Napier. Elsie's home reflected her many talents and abilities, including quilt making, crochet works and her flower and vegetable gardening and her canning. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Freda Bays of Huntington, and Doris and Jackson Kelley of Crown City, Ohio; four grandchildren, Susan Kelley-Jarrell, Jacqueline (Mike) Jones, Jason Kelley and Samuel (Melissa) Bays; five great-grandchildren Seth and Luke Jarrell, Anthony Jones and Alexia and Shad Bays; two great- great-grandchildren Anna and Maddox Jones. The family would like to extend a special thank you to special friend Odell Nelson, family members Maudie Sue and George Kermeans, Alicia Grayson and each staff member at Grayson's Caring Hands for their assistance with Elsie's needs. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington. The procession to the cemetery will leave the funeral home at noon Thursday.
