Irene Short Evans, 95, of Huntington, went to be with the Lord on Thursday August 25, 2016 at Heritage Center, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Monday at the Reger Funeral Chapel By Pastor Peter Barclay. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Irene was a retired selector from Owens Illinois, she was a longtime member of the Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church. Irene was born on April 10, 1921 in Floyd County, KY. the daughter of the late William and Margaret Ann Elam Short. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband Clifford Scarberry and 2nd husband Jimmy Evans and one son, William Thomas Scarberry Sr. and daughter in law Sheila Scarberry. She is survived by her step daughter Pat Kiessling of Michigan; grandchildren Lisa Jones, William “Tommy” Scarberry, Allison Scarberry, Megan Sammons and Gretchen Challa; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and a special daughter in law Ann Crane.
