Faye Wilmer, 90, of Hampstead, NC, formerly of Huntington, WV, died August 18, 2016, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, NC. surrounded by her daughter, Charlotte, her son, Michael, and her trusted sidekick, Yorkshire Terrier, Barclay. Born July 20, 1926, to the late Wyatt and Virgie Campbell, she was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Hope Fairfield "Buck" Wilmer and brothers Leroy and Perlie Campbell. She is survived by her children, Charlotte of Hampstead, NC, and Michael and his wife, Robin, of Folsom, CA, her sisters Ollie Graham and Eulah Perdue and her husband, Richard), Sisters-in-law Ida and Betty Campbell, as well as numerous much-loved nieces and nephews, including her beloved namesake, Sheri Dovetta Stowers.  A devoted mother, avid homemaker, and committed caregiver, Faye was a lifelong Christian, member and leader of Mount Union Methodist Church, and an affiliate member of Hampstead UMC, NC.  The family wishes to extend special gratitude to the staff of The Lower Cape Fear Hospice and all “Faye’s Faithful” caregivers, especially Emily, Heather and Kadi for their loving care.  In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Mount Union Methodist Church, 3931 Mt Union Rd, Huntington, WV 25701, or Lower Cape Fear Hospice 1414 Physicians Dr, Wilmington, NC 28401.  We who knew and loved Faye invite all to celebrate her life and rejoice that she is free from all suffering now that God has called His faithful servant home.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, August 23 at Reger Funeral Home, 1242 Adams Ave, Huntington, WV 25704. A service for family and friends will be held at the White Chapel Mausoleum in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, US Route 60, Midland Trail, Barboursville, WV, on Wednesday, August 24 at 11 am.
