Obituary



Madelyn "Maddie" Elva Hosey, went to be with the Lord at St. Mary's Hospital on August 27, 2016 after a brief illness. Madelyn was born in Huntington on December 22, 1933 to the late Walter Henderson Hosey and Sarah Alpha Moses Hosey. She was preceded in death by her brothers Charles Hosey, David "Pete" Hosey and Benny Hosey and sisters Louise Perdue, Mary White, and Lucille Burcham. She leaves behind her life long partner of 55 years Larry Graham. Her son Robert Lee Hosey and daughter-in-law Susan Gail Mullins Hosey, and grandchildren Kirsten Noelle, Shannon Nicole, and Zachary Thomas Hosey, granddaughter-in-law Chelsea Ann Amperosa Hosey, and great grandson Micah Lee Hosey. One sister Lilah Mae Copley, one brother Tommy Hosey (Renea) both of Huntington and several nieces and nephews and a special niece Lillian Chafin. Madelyn graduated from Huntington High School in 1952. After graduating, she began 42 years of faithful service at Owens Illinois Glass in the Q&A department. She enjoyed spending time with the family more than anything in the world. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and spent hours watching old TV westerns. She was a giving, caring, and loving grandmother. Maddie spread her love by caring for cats and dogs throughout her years and enjoyed providing a "hang out spot" on her front porch for many of the neighborhood cats. She never met a cat she didn't like. Maddie will be missed. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 pm on Monday, August 29, 2016 at the Reger Funeral Home. A service to honor her life will be conducted at 1 pm Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Jerry Chapman. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.
