Obituary
CHARLES T. “Charlie” FOSSELL, 78, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away Monday, January, 25, 2016, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. Charlie was born March 21, 1937, in Huntington, a son of the late Theodore and Thyra Walstrom Fossell. He also was preceded in death by a brother, George Fossell, two sisters, Ruth Crites and Grace Wilkes, and additional extended family and friends. Survivors include his wife of nearly 54 years, Carmen Fossell; a son, Eric Fossell of Huntington; a daughter and her husband, Jennifer Fossell O’Sullivan and Brian of Leonardtown, Maryland; many extended family and friends; and his special pet cat, Molly. Charlie’s love of animals and nature extended to an array of wild birds he faithfully fed and watered. He was an amateur radio enthusiast (K8YOE) who excelled at CW (Morse code). He also was an avid music lover with an affinity for folk artists, especially Bob Dylan. Charlie was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force; his service included a deployment to Thule Air Base in Greenland. He was employed with various industries throughout the Huntington area, including Ensign Electric and Gould Battery. Just before his retirement, he served as a sexton at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Huntington where he made special friendships. There will be a visitation on Thursday January 28, 2016 at the Reger Funeral Home from 6:30-8:00 pm. The family is planning a celebration-of-life service on June 11, 2016 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Sacred Heart Family Center 2015 Adams Avenue, Huntington, WV . In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the EDJ Hospice House in Huntington or to the charity of one’s choice. Reger Funeral Home, Huntington, is assisting the family.
