ObituaryMatthew Don Burns
Matthew Don Burns, 33, of Huntington, WV lost his long battle with addiction and God took him home on September 6, 2017, he’s no longer suffering. Matt wanted so bad to beat that terrible demon that dominated his life for so long. He was a wonderful person that would do anything for anyone. He was a loving daddy to Mattyson. He loved her with all his heart. She was the love of his life. He was a wonderful son, grandson, uncle, brother and nephew. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping but most of all he loved his family. There’s a void in our lives that will never be filled. He made us laugh, cry and even angry at times, but we loved him like no other and our hearts are broken. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Don and Dortha Black, Bill and Doreen Burns, and a very special uncle Michael D. Black. He is survived by his daughter, Mattyson Elizabeth Burns; his parents, Mark and Donita Black Burns; sister, Jeanene Martin (Brad) of Huntington; brother, Scott S. Burns (Kerri) of Huntington; two very special nieces who adored him as much as he did them, Laycee Dawn Burns and Katelyn Marie Burns; nephew, Justin Van Meter; four aunts and uncles, Larry and Beverly Black of South Point, Ohio, Doug and Nancy Black of Chesapeake, Tim and Stella Black of Huntington, and Brian and Pam Burns of Black River Falls, WI. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Tim Yates and Pastor David Lemming. Burial will be in the Burns Family Cemetery.
