Obituary

Patricia Alice Maddox
(1936 - September 10, 2017)

Patricia Alice “Pam” McCallister Maddox - On Sunday September 10, 2017, Mom left her earthly family that loved her dearly to join her family in Heaven. As her spirit departed this earth, Pam, Mom, Mamaw was at home surrounded by family, a family that made her feel so loved and so proud. In the eyes of her family, Mom was a wonderful, thoughtful, patient, beautiful and loving person who always cared about the happiness and needs of others more than her own. Because Mom was an only child, and grew up in a divided home, she made it her life’s goal to fill her home with children and love. She always put her family first during the over 60 years of raising her 5 sons and enjoying her beloved daughters in law (who were angels to mom in her time of need), 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Pam is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jim, who was constantly by her side during her long illness. Also surviving Mom are her loving sons & daughters in law: Greg (Libby), Mark, Jeff (Brenda), Michael (LeghAnn), Scott (Chaundra). Grandchildren: Chris, Jordan (Daniel Spoor), Clay (Erin), Dakota, Jacob, Chase, Taylor, Rachel, Carter, Sarah, Emma and Grayson. Great grandchildren: Reagan, Mac, Annie, Sam (Spoor) and Leland Maddox, and one she claimed as a grandson, Jared Messer. Mom’s journey on this earth is over and her family will miss her daily and deeply, but finds comfort in the fact that she will no longer suffer the trials of this world. All services will be held at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville following a private family burial. On Sunday, September 17, 2017, visitation will be conducted from 3:00-5:00 and the family welcomes you to join us as we honor our mother with a Celebration of Life on Sunday at 5:00ish. We invite you to join us in remembering this wonderful life that our Mother shared with each of us and the countless others she welcomed into her home. The family would like to give a special thank you to all the kind Caregivers for their devotion, care and attention to our Mother, especially Tish; Tina and Sandy from Hospice, and Angel from Heartland.
