Basil E. Chapman
(July 16, 1921 - July 9, 2009)



Basil E. Chapman, 87, of Huntington, WV., died Thursday July 9, 2009 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 11: 00 AM Monday July 13, 2009 at the Harmony United Methodist Church by Rev. Phil Wilson. Entombment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Basil was born July 16, 1921 in Cabin Creek, WV., a son of the late Wade Lyman & Eathel O. Clatterbuck Chapman. He retired from Houdaille Industries and was a faithful member of the Harmony United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter; Amber R. Chapman, 2 brothers, Auburn & Kerman, and 1 sister Syble. Survivors include his wife Doris G. (Grimes) Chapman, 1 daughter & son-in-law, Pamela & Randy Hunt of Barboursville, 3 sons & daughters-in-law, Roger D. & Libby Chapman & Terry L. & Linda L. Chapman all of Barboursville, Steven & Linda M. Chapman of Gallipolis, OH., 10 grandchildren, Duane, Ben, Josh, Chris, & Jeff Chapman, Kelly-Jo Adkins, Shayna Chapman-Burris, Jason, Paul, & Jeremy Hunt, 7 great-grandchildren & 1 special nephew Owen L. Jenkins. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington from 4:00 until 6:00 PM Sunday July 12, 2009.
