Phillip Allen "Dickie" Nance, Sr.
(February 27, 1945 - July 22, 2009)



Phillip Allen "Dickie" Nance, Sr., 64, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday July 22, 2009 at his residence. He was born February 27, 1945, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Ernest and Charlotte Ash Nance. A sister, Gloria Setliff also preceded him in death. Dickie was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, and was retired from the City of Huntington as a Maintenance Engineer. He also belonged to the National Rifle Association, and American Legion Post 200. Survivors include his companion, Cheryl Moses of Huntington; two sons, Phillip Allen Nance, Jr, and friend, Heather Brown, and Michael S. Nance and spouse Stacy L. Nance, all of Huntington; two sisters, Sue Meehling and husband, Ronald Meehling, and Ernestine "Tiny" Nance, all of Proctorville, OH; and two granddaughters, Amy Michelle Nance and Rebecca Lynn Hill, both of Huntington. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday July 25, 2009 at the White Chapel Mausoleum with Rev. Diana Clay officiating, and V.F.W. Post 1064, Huntington conducting military graveside rites. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 10:30 AM at the cemetery.
