Arcoma Childers
(January 4, 1926 - July 3, 2009)

Arcoma Childers, 83, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, July 3, 2009, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. She was born January 4, 1926 in Huntington a daughter of the late James and Rosa Lee Waugh Ball. Her husband, Lowell Childers, and two sons, Jerry Lynn Childers and David Dale Childers, also preceded her in death. Arcoma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the VFW Post 9738 Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon Gayle Childers and Carolyn and Perry Davidson, all of Huntington; three grandchildren, Christopher David Childers, Cynthia Nicole Hamm, and Sarah Ashley Davidson; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Larry Justice of Barboursville, WV; a special friend who was like a daughter to her, Bridget Brizendine of Huntington; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of the Hospice House for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 PM Monday, July 6, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Bishop Jay Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery, Salt Rock, WV.
