Velvia Mae Kingery
(March 2, 1920 - October 11, 2009)



Velvia Mae Kingery, 89, of Lesage, WV, died Sunday, October 11, 2009, at home. Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 pm Thursday, October 15, 2009, at Chapman�s Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Doug Spurlock and Pastor David Blake officiating. Burial will be in Barker Cemetery, Ona. She was born March 2, 1920 in Cabell County, WV a daughter of the late George Tolbert and Sarah Schlagel Mount. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Kingery; three brothers; and two sisters. She attended Vincent Chapel Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and also attended Greenbottom Missionary Baptist Church. She attended a one-room schoolhouse and voted on computer when the system upgraded. She was a private duty caregiver and a homemaker. Survivors include: two daughters, Vonda Sue Kingery and Rosalie Mount, both of Lesage; two sons and daughters-in-law, Grover Wilson and Sue Kingery of Lesage and Roger Dale and Sue Kingery of Ona; a brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Norma Lee Mount of Ona; seven grandchildren, Pamela Hill, Ricky Kingery, Gregory (Tina) Kingery, Tammy Vannatter, Tim (Pate) Mount, Kirby (Christina) Kingery, and Shayne (Rachel) Kingery; twelve great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; special nephew, Mike Mount; special friend Nancy Lane; special nephew and his wife, Ronald and Alberta Watts; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends. The family would like to express a special thanks to Hospice of Huntington. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday at Chapman's Mortuary
