James Edward Roy, Sr.

James Edward Roy, Sr., 64, of Huntington, WV, died at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, October 23, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Jeff Black officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. James was born March 22, 1945, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late George Beverly and Addie Brewer Roy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Proctorville, OH, a 1964 graduate of H.E.H.S. where he played football and set several track records. He was preceded in death by his sister Betty Ann Chapman. Survivors include one daughter, Christina Kay Roy of Tampa, FL; one son, James Roy, Jr. and wife Donna of South Point, OH; two grandchildren, Christopher and Sarah Roy; two sisters, Brenda Watts and Linda Harless, both of Huntington; three brothers, Eugene Roy & wife Carolyn of Proctorville, Bill Roy & wife Arlene of Huntington, and George Michael Roy & wife Louise of Indiana; and several nieces & nephews. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, October 22, 2009.
