Cecil Edison Lewis
(June 22, 1935 - October 9, 2009)



Cecil Edison Lewis, 74, of Lesage, WV, widower of Frances Lewis, died Friday October 9, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 PM Monday October 12, 2009 at Chapman's Mortuary with the Rev. Julia Bolling officiating. Burial with military graveside rites preformed by VFW Post 9738 will be in Moore's Chapel Cemetery. He was born on June 22, 1935 at home in Glenwood, WV, a son of the late Cecil A. and Celesta Dollie Walden Lewis. Two brothers, Junior and Tenny Lewis also preceded him in death. Cecil was a U.S. Army Veteran, and had retired from both Kerr Glass and Lewis Fashion Eye Wear. He was an avid coon hunter having won several trophies and also loved to hunt deer. Survivors include his two sons and daughters-in-law, Shane and Joyce Lewis and Shannon and Audrey Lewis, all of Lesage; 10 sisters and spouses, Alene and John Chapman, Mary Alice Heck, Laura and John Barnett, Mildred Jones, Janice and Carl Powers, Doris Powers, Neva Goolsby, Phyllis and Allen Sadler, Nadine and Edward Gibson, and Connie and Richard Bartholomew; five brothers and spouses, Sherwin and Doris Lewis, Dalton and Wanda Lewis, Darrell and Sandra Lewis, Parren and Ruby Lewis, and Roger and Candace Lewis; seven grandchildren, Amanda and husband, Jason Boggs, Zachariah Lewis, Audreana Lewis, Acashala Lewis, Joshua Pack, Tracey Pack, and Shealyn Lewis; and a great grandson, Zander Griggs. Friends may call 5:00-8:00 PM Sunday at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington.
