Mary. E. Scruggs
(January 17, 2010)


On January 17, 2010, God sent the angels for his child Mary E. Brown Scruggs. She died peacefully in her sleep at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Omar and Lillian Brown, husband Robert Scruggs, and siblings, Gary, Charles, Bobby, and Evelyn. She leaves behind four children, Tonya Scruggs, Patty Akers (Whitt), Bruce Scruggs, and Sherri Griffith (Kenny), siblings, Donald and Hank. She also leaves her grandchildren, Kerri Schreiber (Matthew), Brian Akers, and Kelli Akers and her only great grandchild, Te'a Scruggs, who was the sunshine of her life. Her entire life she was a dedicated homemaker and mother who took care of everyone. Now she has been scooped up in to the arms of the Lord, where he will take care of her for all eternity. According to her wishes, there will be no viewing. Graveside rites will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, January, 20, 2010 at Woodmere Memorial Park, with Rev. Whitt Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family after 10:30 am at the cemetery, Wednesday, January 20, 2010.
