Dorothy Twinam Slack
(July 18, 1913 - January 14, 2010)


Dorothy Twinam Slack, 96, of Huntington, WV, died Thursday January 14, 2010 at Heritage Center Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted 2:30 PM Sunday January 17, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Jack Lipphardt & her nephew Rev. Don Young. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. Dorothy was born July 18, 1913 in Ashland, Ky, a daughter of the late Ernest & Mary Jane Donaldson Twinam. She was a graduate of Ashland High School, a member of Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Huntington Woman's Club, Senior Volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House, & member of the Hope Group & E.T. Jones Bible Class. Her husband, Charles Francis Slack & 1 sister, Anna Margaret Twinam Young, preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Slack Starkey of Huntington, grandchildren, Walter W. Starkey IV of Raleigh, NC, Retired Colonel Richard Starkey of Tampa, Fl, Kevin Starkey & wife Lisa of Las Vegas, NV, Dina Weiss & husband Bill of Poquoson, VA, & Charles Francis Slack of Portsmouth, VA, great-grandchildren, Rick Starkey of Hampton, VA, Lori Starkey of St. Augustine, Fl, Sarah & Morgan Starkey of Raleigh, NC, Brandon, Kyle & Westin Weiss of Poquoson, VA. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Saturday January 16, 2010. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church.
