Lawrence "Rodney" Black
(January 27, 1957 - August 26, 2012)

Lawrence (Rodney ) Black, 55, of Huntington, went to be with the lord Sunday, August 26, 2012. He was born January 27, 1957. He was retired form the Huntington, WV Housing Authority with 32 years of service. He was the son of Lawrence Black of Ona, WV, whom he loved dearly, and was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Juanita Black. He is survived by his brothers, Joel Black and Clinton Mack Black and the love of his life of 37 years, his wife Tammy, who cared for him all through his illness and never left his side, and a host of nieces nephews, and many friends. Rodney was very kind hearted and loved to make people laugh. He was sometimes misunderstood by those who just did not know him. He was well known for his love of classic cars and loving life to the fullness. Rodney touched many hearts and will be sadly missed. Private family graveside services will be conducted by Pastor Mark Hesson. Visitation will be form 11:00 AM until 1:45 PM, Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Chapman’s Mortuary.
