Barbara Sue Bryant
(September 6, 1943 - August 10, 2012)



Barbara Sue Bryant, 68, of Huntington, went home to be with the Lord, Friday August 10, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday August 13, 2012 at Chapman’s Mortuary with Rev. Scott Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. She was born September 6, 1943 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Raymond Jack and Bernice Louise Thompson Bryant. Additional family that preceded her in death were an infant sister, Sally Ann Bryant; a sister, Ruth Ann Chinn; and a brother, David Michael Bryant. Barbara was a member of River Cities Community Church, a past member of Twentieth Street Baptist Church, where she served many years in the nursery and helped with the AWANA Program. She was also a 28 year member and past president of G.F.W.C., Pea Ridge Women’s Club. Barbara was an employee of the Twentieth Street Bank for 34 years, and also worked for University Physicians and Surgeons until she retired in the book keeping and billing department. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen Bryant Orta and Bob Orta of Huntington; her loving and devoted Aunt Patricia Bennett of Jacksonville, FL; nieces and nephews, Kim Johnson, Gary Lee Workman, Linda Marie DeJarnette, Barbara Ellen Abbess, Michael Bryant, Scott Bryant, Lori Bryant Thomas, Jennifer Sandlin, and Susan Skidmore; the loves of her life, great nieces and nephews, Kevin Bryant, Kyle Bryant, Brandon Bryant, Braxton Bryant, Brody Bryant, Gabrielle Thomas, Tiffany Tatum, Brittany Johnson, Ashley Johnson, Andrew DeJarnette, Megan Curry, Emily Curry, Zane Curry, Katharine Sandlin, Emma Sandlin, and Logan Skidmore; and many other cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the River Cities Community Church Growth Fund. Friends may call 3:00-5:00 PM Sunday August 12, 2012, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington.
