Almeda June Hitchcock McCalmont
(June 8, 1922 - August 10, 2012)



Almeda June Hitchcock McCalmont, 90, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012, at Woodlands Retirement Community. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, August 13, 2012, at Woodmere Memorial Park, Abbey of Remembrance on Avondale Road, Huntington, with Rev. Cinda Harkless officiating. Burial will follow. Almeda was born June 8, 1922 in Uhrichsville, OH the daughter of the late Hugh A. and Margaret Reizanshi Hitchcock. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jay Theodore McCalmont and three brothers, Hugh, Allen and Tom Hitchcock. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include one daughter, Shirley McCalmont Jones and husband Mike of Huntington; one son, Samuel Allen McCalmont and wife Sharon of Pittsburgh, PA; three grandchildren, Kelly Jones Esposito and husband Joe of Charlotte, NC, Scott Theodore Jones of Los Angeles, CA, and Meredith Victoria McCalmont of Pittsburgh; and one great-grandson, James Wendell Esposito of Charlotte. The family would like to send a special thanks to the Health Care Staff at Woodlands for all of their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Friends may call after 10:30 AM at the cemetery on Monday. Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
