J.D. Johnson
(November 10, 1936 - August 21, 2012)



Mr. James D. “J. D. “ Johnson, 75, of Huntington, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at his residence. A celebration of J.D.’s life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, August 24, 2102, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Revs. Mark Jarrell and Brian Sweeny officiating. J.D. was born in Huntington, WV on November 10, 1936, a son of the late James Alden and Thelma Marie Sanders Johnson. J..D. served with US Army National Guard and was a member of New Baptist Church. He worked at I.N.C.O. for 38 years, last working in the Technical Processing Lab, and then he was with TIMET for 7 years. He is survived by his wife of 51 wonderful years, Carolyn Linkfield Johnson, 2 sons, James Michael Johnson and Ricky Scott Johnson; his grand children, Amber Nicole Johnson, Jamie Scott Johnson, Scott Douglas Johnson, Krista Dee Johnson, Joshua Michael Johnson, and Ryan Paul Johnson; great grandchildren, Trenton Casey “T.C.” Vaughn and Braxton Lee Midkiff; his sister, her husband and son, Judy and Andy Nameth and David Waugh; his special friends, Frank and Betty, Daphne Rideout and family, Roger Hoover family, Terri Drown, and many other family and friends. The family will receive friends at Chapman’s Mortuary from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Friday, August 24, 2012. Inurnment will be at a later date at Woodmere Memorial Park. Please make contributions in JD’s names to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
