Betty S. Chapman Ballard, 88, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012. Born August 8, 1923 in Portsmouth, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Z. Warner and Cora Seamonds Chapman. She graduated from Huntington High School class of 1941, and attended the Huntington Business College. She was a long time employee of the C&O Hospital, and retired from Saint Mary’s Hospital. Mrs. Ballard was an active volunteer for the Jeffrey E. George Comfort House, an avid bridge player, and a member of Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, George and Jeanne Ballard, and grandchildren Leslie and Andrew all of Louisville, KY. The family would like to express their thanks for the care and attention for Betty, to Dr. Scott and Leigh Ballard, and Jackie Ballard all of Huntington. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 19, 2012, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, with a reception immediately following at the church.
