Helen Stiles Hayslip
(December 12, 1912 - March 2, 2012)


HELEN STILES HAYSLIP, 99, of Proctorville, Ohio, died March 2, 2012 at Heartland of Riverview, South Point, Ohio. She was born December 12, 1912 in Naperville, IL, daughter of the late Joseph E., Martha Stiles and Ethel Stiles. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Raymond P. Hayslip and her brothers Harlan and Joseph Stiles. She is survived by her son William A. (Gloria) Hayslip of Proctorville, grandson Christopher A. (Tara) and great grandsons Hudson and Cooper Hayslip of Hurricane. W.Va. She is also survived by a niece Martha (Dick) Roderick of Gallipolis, Ohio, and two nephews, Joseph (Wendy) Stiles of Virginia Beach, Va. and John (Chris) Stiles of Centennial, Co. and their families. She attended Naperville, IL public schools and came to Huntington, W.Va. in 1930 to attend Marshall College. She graduated in 1934 with a teaching degree and taught for several years in Cabell County schools. She was married to Raymond in 1937 at Trinity Episcopal Church. She was very active at Trinity. She and Raymond volunteered at the Huntington Chapter of the American Red Cross for many years. She was a member of the Beverly Hills and Huntington Women's Clubs as well as the Azalea Garden Club. She was also an avid bridge player. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Trinity Episcopal Church with The Rev'd James H. Morgan officiating. There will be visitation two hours before the service at the church. Entombment will be in Woodmere Abbey of Peace, Woodmere Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Trinity Episcopal Church, 520 11th St., Huntington, WV 25701. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington is in charge of arrangements.
