Pauline Jones Reed
(March 23, 1925 - March 15, 2012)



Pauline Jones Reed, 86, of Huntington, WV, widow of Perry L. Reed, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at her daughter’s residence in Pikeville, KY. She was born March 23, 1925 in Logan County, WV, a daughter of the late Burton and Verda Ratliff Jones. In addition to her husband and parents other family that preceded her in death were a brother, Eldon Jones; her son-in-law, Ed Chapman; and her step mother, Elsie Ackerman Jones. She was a retired department store manager for Elder-Beerman, and a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church. Pauline was the beloved mother of Sharon Reed Chapman of Port Saint Lucie, FL, and Deborah Sue Ferguson and husband, Charles H. Ferguson, Jr., of Pikeville, KY. Additional survivors include sisters, Dora Charles of Asheboro, NC, Joyce Ruble, Rachel Smith and brother, Walter “Johnny” and Charlene Jones, all of Lexington, KY, sister, Marylene and Norman LeFurgy of Richmond, KY, and brother, Dale and Jackie Jones of Bowling Green, OH; four grandsons, Mark and Larissa Chapman of Richmond, VA, Greg and Ilka Chapman of Bealton, VA, Matthew and Melissa Ferguson of Whitesburg, KY, David and Crystal Ferguson of Ona, WV, and a granddaughter, Jennifer and Kirk Nelson of Naples, Italy; eleven great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Pastor Charles Ferguson, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. Friends may call after 12:30 PM until service time Thursday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
