Evelyn Eloise Taylor Carpenter, 95, known by her friends as Lucy, and most of her family as Maw Maw, of Martinsburg, WV, formerly of Huntington, WV, left this life on October 6, 2012, and was greeted by her husband, Everett M. Carpenter, her parents, G. Franklin Taylor and Trinnie F. Johnston Taylor, and many others she knew and loved in this life. She was born March 17, 1917 in Peach Ridge, near Hurricane, WV. She is survived by her two sons, W.F. John Carpenter (Bette), and Ernest L. Carpenter, all of Martinsburg, WV; six grandchildren and spouses, Jane Ann Thompson (Brian), of Inwood, WV, John Carpenter (Kathi), of Martinsburg, Beth Reece (Mike) of Keedysville, MD, Karen Martin (Eric), of Martinsburg, Susan Lemmons of Martinsburg, and Jim Carpenter (Kristi), of Bella Vista, AR; 21 great grandchildren; a sister, Betty J. Neal of Martinsburg; and several nieces and nephews. She was loved by all who knew her, and was a stay at home, Mom. She took care of her husband for many years prior to his death in 1989. Family will receive friends, 7:00-9:00 PM Monday October 8th at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 AM Tuesday October 9, 2012, at Chapman’s Mortuary, and burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Hurricane, WV.
