Helen Mary Harbulak

Helen Harbulak, 91, of Huntington, WV, passed away. Thursday, October 25, 2012, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Harbulak in 1963, her sister Ann (Babe) Harbulak in 1970, and her father Harry Harbulak in 1979. She was a retired employee of the Internal Revenue Service. She also worked as a volunteer for auxiliary of Saint Mary’s Medical Center. She is survived by many close friends and family. Most notably of her close friends were Darlene Bruce, Barbara Blatt, the late Mrs. Jean Bias, and her Scottish Terrier, Michael. Special recognition goes as well to her caregiver Ms. Patty Adkins. One of Helen’s greatest loves was for that of dogs especially Scottish Terriers. Helen was a lifetime member of the Huntington Kennel Club in which she held every office. When she was not holding an office she served on the Board of Directors and also as Show Chairman for the club’s weekend long all-breed dog show. At the time of her passing Miss Harbulak was serving as the club historian. Miss Harbulak was a member of the Dayton Scottish Terrier Club, the Pittsburgh Scottish Terrier Club, and the Scottish Terrier Club of America who recognized her as an honorary member in 2012 for her fifty plus years of devotion to her beloved breed “the Scottie”. Funeral Service and Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Huntington, WV. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
