Mr. Richard Childers, Jr. 71, of Huntington, widower of Patricia Childers, passed away Saturday January 5, 2013 at the VA Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Ernest M. Ritchie officiating. He was born August 31 1941, in Ashland, KY, a son of the late Richard Childers, Sr. and Louise Mullins Childers., He was a veteran , serving in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam era., and was a long haul truck driver. He is survived by 3 daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer Dawn and Alan Blevins of Huntington, Denise Adams Childers and Daphne Snisky, both of Montgomery, AL, and 2 sons Richard Dean Childers of California and Danny Childers, serving in the military. Many grandchildren and 2 great grand children., Visitation will be from 6pm until 8pm Monday, January 7, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary.
