Robert D. Suiter, Sr.
(June 30, 1941 - January 5, 2013)


Robert D. Suiter, Sr., 71, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday January 5, 2013 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Bob was born June 30, 1941 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Harold & Orleta Ferrell Suiter. He served in the U.S.A.F., Army National Guard and retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for a total of 29 years government service. He was a faithful member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sheila Myers Suiter, daughter, Mary and son-in-law Clint Doutt, son Bobby and daughter-in-law Sheli Suiter, grandchildren, Johnathan Holland Suiter & Nolan Suiter, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Michael and Jane Myers, a nephew, Steven Myers and his loving dog Murry. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday January 8, 2013 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Minister David Thomas and Pastor Dennis Morrello officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary after noon until service time on Tuesday. Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct military graveside rites. The family asks that all donations be made to the Veteran’s Program at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
