Geraldine "Gerri" Patterson
(February 20, 1935 - January 29, 2013)



On the morning of Tuesday January 29, 2013, Geraldine “Gerri” Patterson, went to be with her Lord.. Gerri, born on February 20, 1935, was the first of six children of the late William and Georgia Barnett Holley. She lived most of her adult life in Cleveland, OH where she worked in retail most of her career. She returned to her native Huntington ten years ago. Gerri was a forty-year breast cancer survivor, and an avid volunteer for the American Cancer Society. After moving back to Huntington she volunteered at the VA Hospital. She attended the First Church of the Nazarene. Gerri leaves behind a daughter, Connie (Bob) Kelly of Tallmadge, OH, and her children, Kim (Rob); Shawn (Jamie); and Todd; a son, Dennis (Angela) Patterson of Huntington, and his children, Richard and Katie. She had four great grandchildren, Marissa, Tyler, Mackayla, and Arya. She is also survived by three sisters, Faye (Sam) Clay, Kaye Blankenship, and Carol (Charlie) Arms and two brothers, George (Linda) Holley and Mike (Linda) Holley; and special friends and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday February 1, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Pastor Dale Barnett and Dallas Moore officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Friends may call after noon until service time Friday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
