Donald Ray Savage
(March 8, 1936 - January 25, 2013)



Donald Ray Savage, 76, of Huntington, WV lost his battle with cancer on Friday, January 25, 2013 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held 2:00pm Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Bill DeMoss officiating. Don was born March 8, 1936 in Williamson, WV a son of the late William Bisco and Alva Williams Savage. In 1953 Don entered the U.S. Marine Corps earning the rank of Corporeal and receiving an honorable discharge in 1956. He was the owner of ServiceMaster of the Tri-State since 1987 and took much pride in all of the employees that enriched his life over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughter Kathy Lynn Savage, his brother Leroy Savage, and his granddaughter Kristin Savage. Survivors include his wife Julie Savage and son D.R. Savage II both of Huntington, his son Tony Savage and wife Lynn Beth of Catlettsburg, his daughter Laura Hensley and husband Eddie of Ashland, and their mother Phyllis Savage of Catlettsburg, three grandchildren Shawn Savage, Josh Mayse, and Kylie Mayse, and one great grandson Aiden Savage. Also surviving is his sister Georgie Howard of Catelettsburg, four brothers, Doug Savage of Williamson, William Savage and wife Linda of Junction City, OH, Chris Savage of Chattaroy, and David Whitt and wife Sarah of Columbus, OH, one aunt Arvie Fletcher of Dan's Branch, WV, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and two special friends Dave Hazelet and wife Kay of Huntington, and Charlene Walls of South Point, OH. The family would like to thank all of the family, friends, and ServiceMaster employees who brought so much joy to our lives.
