Obituary


Lewis James "Jim" Blake, Sr., 74, of Huntington, WV, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Friday, December 23, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Ray Vance officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Born January 23, 1942, in Huntington, he was the son of the late James Homer and Vera Jaworsky Blake. A son Lewis Blake, Jr., "Jimmy", a granddaughter, Amanda Dawn Pelfrey and 3 siblings also preceded him in death. Jim retired from Allied Transportation as a truck driver. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Martha Erwin Blake of Huntington; four daughters, Lagenia and Michael Hensley, and Vera Burton and Louis Hamlin all of Chesapeake, OH, and Shirley and George Vaught, and Krystal LeMaster and fiancé John Watson all of Huntington; two sons, Clifford D. Blake and Michael Spencer both at home; two sisters, Gloria Snyder and Kay McGlone; two brothers, Lee Blake and Bill Blake; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
