Lucille Marie Hogan Porter
(February 11, 1928 - December 4, 2009)



Mrs. Lucille Hogan Porter, 81, of Boones Mill, VA, formerly of Huntington, WV, went to be with the Lord on Friday morning, December 4, 2009. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, WV with Rev. Randy Osburn and Rev. Phil Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Lucille was born February 11, 1928 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Omer and Rosa Jordan McClure. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Stanley Hogan and Louis P. Porter; and a sister, Mildred Johnson. Lucille was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. With her outgoing and caring personality, she made many friends. Always with a positive love of life, she was an example to many. She was a member of Groce United Methodist Church in Asheville, NC. Lucille is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and June Hogan of Boones Mill, VA and William Hogan and Karen McDonald of Asheville, NC; a daughter, Teresa Marie Hogan of Logan, WV; six grandchildren, R. Shawn Hogan of Springfield, OH, Kelly Dawn Schetselaar and husband, Stefan of Gainesville, VA, Jennifer Lynne Bernstein and husband, Mike of Solon, OH, Bryan Lee Hogan and wife, Heather of Pennington Gap, VA, Melissa Leigh Snahnican and Paul of North Olmsted, OH and Kelly Ann Turner of Atlanta, GA; eight great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Janet McClure and Don and Donna McClure, all of Huntington; and a sister, Betty J. Hall of Greenville, NC; and many special nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to South Roanoke Nursing Home and Gentle Shepherd Hospice of Roanoke, VA for their love and care of Lucille.
