Arnia L. Smith, 75, of Huntington, WV, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor William Kouns officiating. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park, Milton, WV with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 16, of which he was a member. Arnia was born December 15, 1933 in Elkins, WV, a son of the late James and Letha Van Pell Smith. A son, James "Jimbo" Smith and a brother, Thomas Smith, also preceded him in death. He was a truck driver for Budweiser Company and was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include: his wife, Gloria "Dody" Smith; three daughters, Tami Avella of Bradenton, FL, Annette (Charley) Roberts of Conover, NC, and Dixie (Robert) Means of Huntington; two sons, Arnia L. Smith, Jr. and Mark "Sam" (Ramona) Smith, all of Huntington; a sister, Geraldine Kisner of Stow, OH; two brothers, Howard Smith of Elkins, WV and Roy Smith of Jacksonville, FL; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
