ELOISE MILTON BARNETT DIAL, 82, passed away on January 20, 2010, at Wilora Lake Health Care Center in Charlotte, NC. She was born on October 13, 1927, at Ashland, KY, and was a daughter of the late William Milton and Rachel Marcum Barnett. Her husband of nearly 60 years, Jack Winston Dial; her daughter, Rebecca Wynne Dial; a brother, Wayne Barnett; and three sisters, Ruth Barnett Childres, Opal Barnett Ackinson, and Roberta Barnett Haws preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Dial Mager and Richard A. Mager, of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are her niece Diana Dial Fish (and husband Walter Fish); nephew Eddie Dial; nephew Jim Ackinson; niece Connie Davis; two step-grandsons, Jeremy Mager (and wife Shenon) and Jason Mager; and four step-great-grandchildren. Eloise was a graduate of Huntington High School and was an employee of the Veterans Administration after World War II. Later she assisted her husband in the operation of Jack Dial Sporting Goods, Inc., in downtown Huntington for 20 years. After the business closed, she was employed by Highlawn Baptist Church for 14 years as secretary to the pastor, before she retired. She was a faithful member of the church and the Innkeepers Sunday school class, and served on the Board of Deaconesses for many years before moving to Charlotte with Jack. Visitation will be at Highlawn Baptist Church, 2788 Collis Avenue, Huntington, WV 25702, on Saturday, January 23, from 10:00 AM-12:00 noon. Services will follow at the church at 12:00 noon, with Rev. Roger Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eloise's memory to Highlawn Baptist Church, or to a charity of the giver's choice. Chapman's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
