Hirshel Blaine Ellis

Hirshel Blaine Ellis, 92, of Huntington, WV, widower of Glenna Maxine Esque Ellis, passed away Friday, January 29, 2010 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Graveside services will be conducted 12:30 pm Monday, February 1, 2010 in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kenova, WV, officiated by his eldest son, Larry Ellis. Burial will follow. He was born January 29, 1918, in Cabell County, WV, a son of the late Cephus Blaine and Ethel Mae McCallister Ellis. One son, Jackie Lee Ellis, three sisters, Josephine Dunkle, Emogene Bolin, and Helen Ellis; four brothers, Everett Ellis, John Ellis, Cline Ellis and Leon Ellis also preceded him in death. He was a self-employed cabinetmaker, and a member of the former 25th Street Pentecostal Church. Survivors include; two daughters, Betty J. Goss of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Linda Louise Goss of Shoals, WV; three sons, Larry Ellis of TX, Jerry Ellis and Pete Ellis both of FL; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
