Wilmer "Joe" Gillispie
(April 14, 1921 - January 22, 2010)

Mr. Wilmer H. "Joe" Gillispie, 88, of Huntington, WV, widower of Mary Catherine Gillispie, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, January 22, 2010, at the Emogene Dolen Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Tuesday January 26, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary, with the Rev. Leo Skaggs officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursvile. He was born April 14, 1921, the son of the late Calyton and Martha Gillispie. Preceding him in death, were 2 sisters and 3 brothers, and a granddaughter, Kathy G. Smith and a grandson, Larry S. Canal. Those surviving are a sister Hazel Simms, of Barboursville, stepchildren , Lyvonne Canal of Cleveland, OH, William H. Smith and wife Frances, of Huntington, Wanda Waiters and Fred of Huntington, a special grandson, Terry A Smith, of Huntington, who she helped raise, along with 7 grandchildren, and 17 great grand children.
