Charles William Early
(October 17, 1919 - August 7, 2011)



Charles William Early, 91, of Huntington, husband of Marcella M. Moore Early, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, August 11, 2011, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 5640 Shawnee Drive; Huntington, with Bishop Andrew Mazon, III officiating. Burial with Military Honors conducted by Post 16 Veterans Honor Guard will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Charles was born October 17, 1919 in Ashland, KY, a son of the late Charles Henry and Goldie Banks Early. Others preceding him in death were a son, William Early; two sisters, Edith Ginger and Evelyn Chapman; and three brothers, Richard Early, John Early, and Bob Early. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II, and a retired heavy equipment salesman having sold equipment while in Florida. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the Disabled American Veterans. In addition to his wife survivors include, two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy L. and Bob Cathey of Elgin, SC, and Rani S. and Gary McCulloch of Roy, WA; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert B. and Debra Early of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ralph E. Early of South Point, OH, and George I. and Lois Early of Ashland, KY; five grandchildren, Scott, Michael, Jason, Greg, and Christopher; and five great grandchildren. Friends may call 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington.
