Dorothy J. Cremeans
(March 5, 1934 - June 22, 2011)

Dorothy J. Cremeans, 77, of Huntington, WV, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born March 5, 1934 in Huntington a daughter of the late George and Bessie Smith Watters. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay H. Cremeans, Jr; a sister, Naomi Cade; and a brother, Lawrence Watters. Dorothy attended Central Freewill Baptist Church and was formerly an aide at St. Mary’s Medical Center and worked at Berryhill. Survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Vicki and Scott Webb and Diana Fortner, all of Huntington; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Debbie Cremeans of Dunbar, WV; five grandchildren, Angela Shockley, Kristi Thompson, Shane Martin, and Jessica Cremeans Stapleton, all of Huntington, and Ricky Lee Cremeans of Deridder, LA; and four great grandchildren, Jacob Thompson, Kassidi Thompson, Christopher Shockley, and Savannah Shockley. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
