Lillie Mae Ward Huff
(February 21, 1932 - June 8, 2011)



Lillie Mae “Pete” Ward Huff, 79, of Huntington, wife of Walter Huff, passed away Wednesday June 8, 2011 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday June 13, 2011 at Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church, at 4637 Piedmont Road, Huntington, WV 25704, with Pastor Phillip Warren officiating. Burial will be in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington. She was born February 21, 1932, in Floyd County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Henry and Anna Taylor Wright. Her first husband, Vilas H. “Tom” Ward, and two sisters, Emma Akers and Mary Hudson also preceded her in death. She was retired from Kerr Glass Manufacturing of Huntington. Lillie was a member of Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church, American Legion Post 93, Kenova, a life member of V.F.W. Post 9738 Ladies Auxiliary, and member of the D.A.V. Chapter 2 of Huntington. In addition to her husband, survivors include, a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Butch Woodard of Wilson, NC; a son and daughter-in-law, Ernest and Gayna Ward of Roanoke, VA; two step sons, Fred E. Huff of Barboursville, and Mark Huff of Bilombi, Australia; two granddaughters, Alicia Ward Hibbs and spouse, Robbie Hibbs and Megan Ward Phillips and spouse, Greg Phillips, all of Roanoke, VA; two step grandchildren; Nathan Huff and Kerri Huff; two brothers, John “Bud” Wright of Elyria, OH, and Thomas “Doc” Wright of Ironton, OH; and two great grandchildren, Ava Hibbs and Justin Hibbs of Roanoke, VA. Donations may be made to her church in her name. Friends may call 4:00-6:00 PM Sunday June 12, 2011 at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington.
