Elmer Lewis
(May 23, 1952 - June21, 2011)



Elmer Lewis, 59, of Huntington, WV, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, June 21, 2011, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 PM Friday, June 24, 2011, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Ernie Spence, Evangelist, officiating. Entombment will be in the Christus Chapel Mausoleum, White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. He was born May 23, 1952 in Pikeville, KY a son the late Arlie and Eileen Helton Lewis of Williamson, WV. He was also preceded in death by an older brother, Elder from Pasadena, MD and a brother-in-law, Bud Maynard of Rawl, WV. He was retired from restaurant management. Elmer is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ruth “Tootsie” Roy Lewis; his son, Jeffrey Kirk Lewis and daughter-in-law, Stephanie of Chesapeake, OH; his grandchildren, Zach and Jared; four brothers, Arland “Bo”, Earl and his wife, Penny, Jimmie, and Rick Lewis, all of Williamson, WV; four sisters, Alice May and her husband David of Canada, KY, Minnie Starr and her husband, Carleton of Charleston, WV, and Sheila Maynard and Jo Ann Sias, both of Williamson, WV; a sister-in-law, Darlene Lewis of Pasadena, MD; a sister-in-law, Ann Carroll and her husband, Charlie of Huntington; two brothers-in-law, Leslie Roy and his wife Gail of Barboursville and Ronnie Roy and his wife Theresa of Huntington; and his best friend, his dog Bruiser. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the American Lung Association. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Chapman’s Mortuary.
