Homer M. Fry
(November 18, 1928 - November 7, 2013)


Mr. Homer Morris Fry “The Deacon”, 84, of Huntington, WV, widower of Eileen Stiltner Fry, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted noon Monday, November 11, 2013, at the Huntington United Baptist Church, 11th avenue at 17th street, with Revs. O. F. Adkins, Phillip Warren, Kim Stone, and Greg Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Homer was born November 18, 1928 in Wayne County, WV the son of Harkins and Sylvia Sellards Fry. He attended Huntington High School and Marshall University, and was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was owner of Singer Electronics, Fry’s Electronics and worked at Dan Ferguson Music for 36 years. He was a member of the Huntington United Baptist Church since 1956, where he served as deacon, teacher, treasurer and song/choir leader. He was a member of several Southern Gospel groups including 33 years with the Gospel Harmony Boys and served as EMCEE for both on stage and their television program. He has been a member of The Guardians of Chillicothe, OH for the last 12 years. Military graveside honors will be given by Veterans Honor Guard Post 16. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Melody Fry Davis and Doyle “Dave” Davis, and Kimberly Fry, all of Huntington; grandsons, Clark (Krystle) Davis, and Christopher Davis and an aunt “Special Sister”, Juanita Frazier. The family would like to express their special thanks to the J. Robert Pritchard Dialysis Center at Cabell-Huntington Hospital, his good friend Dr. Zeid J. Khitan, Hospice of Huntington and the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm, Sunday, November 10, 2013, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington.
