John Boyce Bartholomew

John Boyce Bartholomew, 88, of Huntington, WV, died Thursday February 26, 2015 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Memorial funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday March 6, 2015 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Bill DeMoss officiating. John was born May 15, 1926 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Howard & Nell Hale Bartholomew. He was a retired Service Supervisor for the former Appalachian Power Company. He was a U.S.Navy Veteran serving during WWII. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 9738, American Legion Post 16, and President of the Appalachian Power Company’s retirees. He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and a grandson, Zachary Jones. Survivors include his wife Marie C. Bartholomew, three daughters, Susan Bellomy of Huntington, Kathy Jones & husband Tom of Braselton, GA, & Amy Jasinski & husband Paul of Boxford, Mass., one son, John Boyce Bartholomew, Jr. of Huntington, four grandchildren, Chris Bellomy, Joe & Anne Marie Jasinski & Aaron Jones, six great-grandchildren, Stone, Colton “Bear”, Delaney, Carmen & Stella Marie Bellomy and Jackson Jones. Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association, 162 Court St., Charleston, WV 25301. Friends may visit with the family after 10:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
