Obituary

Ethel Willia McComas
(April 9, 1921 - February 18, 2015)


Ethel Willia McComas, 93, of Huntington, WV, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015, in Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, February 20, 2015, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with her nephew, Rev. James Dailey officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born April 9, 1921 in Huntington a daughter of the late William Henry and Flossie Wick Crowder. Her husband, Buford Arthur McComas; a sister, Helen Dailey; and two brothers, Harry Crowder and Norville Crowder, also preceded her in death. She was retired from housekeeping at St. Mary’s Medical Center and was a member of Twenty-Sixth Street Baptist Church. Survivors include: a daughter, Helen L. Cross of Cartersville, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, B.A. “Boots” and Nancy McComas of Huntington; three grandchildren and their spouses, Brett and Rebecca McComas of Milton, WV, Johnna and Kevin Hord of Kennesaw, GA, and Jane Cross of Chattanooga, TN; two step grandchildren, Judi Vickers of Huntington and Kelly and Damon Williamson of Harrison, OH; one great grandchild; five step great grandchildren; and two step great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nurses and certified nursing assistants of Huntington Health and Rehabilitation for their loving care. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
